FFI GLOSSARY

Data Room Index

Definition

A structured listing of all documents in the data room, organised by category, with the document name, the period or date it covers, and the date it was last updated. The data room index is the navigation tool for any investor reviewing the data room and is a required component of a Level 2 compliant financial data room under the FFI Standard.

Common Misapplication

The most common misapplication is omitting the data room index on the basis that the folder structure is self-explanatory. An investor reviewing a data room for the first time cannot assess whether the data room is complete without a comprehensive index listing every document by category.

FFI Standard Reference

This term is defined and applied in Book 5, Section 5.1: The Data Room Financial Standard.
