Fundraising Readiness
Definition
The condition in which a company's financial infrastructure meets the Level 2 compliance requirements of the FFI Standard across all domains relevant to its stage, such that it can engage institutional investors in a fundraising process with full financial credibility and without requiring preparation time to assemble materials. Fundraising readiness is a consequence of maintained financial infrastructure, not a pre-raise preparation activity.
Common Misapplication
The most common misapplication is treating fundraising readiness as a state achieved by preparing materials in the weeks before a fundraise begins. A company that was not financially ready before initiating a fundraising process cannot become fully ready by assembling materials under the time pressure of an active process.
