FFI GLOSSARY

Deployment Period

Definition

The period over which capital raised in a funding round is expected to be deployed, from the date of receipt to the date on which the company expects to have reached the milestone that justifies the subsequent funding round. The deployment period is a required component of the use of proceeds documentation under the FFI Standard.

Common Misapplication

The most common misapplication is stating a deployment period without identifying the specific milestone the company expects to reach by the end of that period. A deployment period without a connected milestone is a time horizon without a destination.

FFI Standard Reference
